‘In Memorium (Easter 1915)’
Edward Thomas
The flowers left thick at nightfall in the wood
This Eastertide call into mind the men,
Now far from home, who, with their sweethearts, should
Have gathered them and will do never again.
This page has been created to mark the World War 1 centenary, and to remember those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom during the Great War (1914 to 1918), over a hundred years ago.
The All Hallows Churchyards at Kirkburton contain the graves for 31 men who volunteered to serve their country and were killed in the ensuing conflict.
The graveyard inscriptions for these men have been listed below. Also, by clicking on the red flags shown on the churchyard map, it will display some further information about each person. If you have any further information or details which you would like to be displayed here, then please contact a member of the Churchyard team.
